Jaisalmer – the city drenched in amber delight and etched in yellow sandstone freezes the time of the royal past. Like every place in India, Jaisalmer too has its legend to be told. According to this legend, Lord Krishna who was the head of Yadav clan had foretold Arjuna that a remote descendent of the Yadav clan would mark his kingdom on the Trikuta Hill. His prophecy turned true. The city of Jaisalmer was founded in 1156 by Rawal Jaisal, a Bhatti Rajput King (Bhattis are descendents of the Moon dynasty whose origin is traced to Lord Krishna).
